About

Welcome! I’m Vanessa.

I believe therapy can be a life-improving tool.

My style is person-centered, collaborative, and tailored to the individual. Because no two people are exactly alike, I adapt sessions to each person's unique needs, goals, and circumstances.

Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, stress, trauma, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can provide a space to better understand yourself, build on your strengths, and create meaningful change.

Experience & Education

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York (License #100586) and have worked in the social services field for more than 18 years.

I earned my bachelor's degree in Psychology from St. Mary's College of Maryland Honors College in 2006 and my Master's in Social Work from Rutgers University in 2014.

Therapeutic Approach

My work is informed by a variety of evidence-based therapies, including solution-focused therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), strength-based approaches, and positive psychology.

The approach we take depends on your individual situation and what resonates with you.

Outside of the Therapy Room

When I'm not working, I enjoy singing and dancing (at a very amateur capacity), creative projects, traveling, meeting random animals, and attempting to play musical instruments.

Travel and exploring new places are important to me. Visiting all seven continents and all 50 states remain high on my bucket list.

“Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.”

“Start where you are.
Use what you have.
Do what you can.”
